COURSE DESCRIPTION
This three-day workshop comprising classroom lectures, exercises and case studies is designed to explain the mergers and acquisitions process; structuring; financing and valuation dynamics. It also unpacks the value creation dynamics post-merger, and promotes a deeper appreciation of how a range of transactions are structured. Participants will gain an understanding of the variety of corporate finance issues involved, the M&A process for both public and private transactions (using international best practice) and why very few deals are successful, and most fail.
Those attending will gain a thorough knowledge of M&A valuation techniques, their uses and abuses and insights into why divestment is an important part of the M&A toolkit – specifically when to divest; and the alternative ways of divesting a business. They will also be introduced to various sources of acquisition finance and how to structure leveraged buy outs (LBOs).
